LMTA - Competition | NYC 

About the LMTA COMPETITION

The LMTA International Voice Competition is a scholarship competition that takes place in New York City on December 14th from 11:00am - 3:00pm at Pearl Studios. Singers will perform for a panel of judges that are deeply rooted in the Broadway/West End community and compete for full and partial scholarships and admittance into the London Summer Music Theatre Academy. 

ELIGIBILITY

Any singer over the age of 18 years old is eligible to apply for the London Summer Music Theater Competition. This is an international voice competition and LMTA welcomes applicants from any country worldwide.

REPERTOIRE and REQUIREMENTS

LMTA requires singers to submit their materials for Preliminary screening before December 10th. Singers to submit their materials for Preliminary screening before December 10th.
For Pre-Screening please include two vocal selections with no cuts.

For the Live Competition, Singers should include five vocal selections with no cuts, One up tempo, one ballad, one after 1990 and two of artists choice.

OPPORTUNITY

The First-Place Winner of the LMTA Voice Competition will receive full scholarship to perform a leading role with the London Summer Music Theatre Academy. Productions are fully staged with orchestra. The 2021 season includes Concrete Jungle and a professional showcase. 

The Second-Place Winner will receive $1500 scholarship to the LMTA to to perform a leading role with the London Summer Music Theatre Academy. Productions are fully staged with orchestra. The 2021 season includes Concrete Jungel a professional showcase. 

The Third-Place Winner will receive $1000 scholarship to the LMTA to to perform a leading role with the London Summer Music Theatre Academy. Productions are fully staged with orchestra. The 2021 season includes Concrete Jungle and a professional showcase. 

APPLICATION

A complete application for the London Summer Music Theatre Voice Competition consists of the following:

- Application Fee of $40

- A completed Application Form (on YapTracker.com or through our application portal)

- Two uploaded Audio or Video files (AAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, MP4)

- Audio files should be recorded with accompaniment.

- All uploaded files must be named in a format similar to that of their application.
